For all the shit that happened in the last four years including 9/11, the depression in India, the unexpected rise of the Euro, and etc., Bush was not such a bad president. By no means was he good, but in retrospect, he was decent. Most presidents would have made comparable actions. While listening to Bush's speaches (despite his mistakes), sometimes, I do hear something good. He occasionaly makes a statement which makes sense, and he explains how he will carry it out. I cannot say the same thing for Kerry. Despite his intelligence, and eloquent speaking, he never makes a concrete statement. We live in a dangerous world, and if Bush has made enough of an impact, that the only thing terrorists can do to shake things up before the election is send a video-tape, than he has helped stop terrorism. It can never be stopped, but he has made an impact, whether you agree with the Iraqi war or not. They know that they cannot fuck with the US now. Kerry's campaign has been far more negative than Bush's. All he talks about is Bush's tax cuts to the wealthy, and Bush's disregard of other countries in his Iraqi decisions, but he never says how he is going to change those things. I've been to "JohnKerry.com," and there isn't any more said there than he says on the podium. I don't like Bush. I don't like Kerry. But at least I can trust Bush, I know the type of decisions Bush has made, and they aren't so horrible. Kerry seems completely indecisive and uncertain. I just wouldn't feel safe under Kerry.

You know, I agree half with you. I agree with everything you said about Kerry, but when it comes down to it, I'd rather have a man in office who thinks outside of America, unlike bush.

And NIcky? Don't do that to yourself. Make 7 Up yours.

You know, I've actually given some thought to the idea of the north seceding from the south. But if you think about it, it's not such a hot idea. Really, we need them more than they need us. Where does all our food come from? Where are all the textile factories, the farms, the slaughterhouses?

What will they do without us? NOT see the Lion King on Broadway?

I think the real flaw in our system is that our country is based on the idea that people of vastly differing philosophies and outlooks on life can get along and that diversity will, in fact, make us stronger. Hey, I'm all for diversity, but please people, put a little effort into this. Yeah, it pisses the hell out of me that the south, especially the Bible Belt houses most of the evangelical, bigoted Americans and that they always vote for the other guy. But I try to make a conscious effort not to hate an entire half of the country. And they should do the same for us. I mean, if we hate the entire South what does that say about us being open-minded? Yeah, I assume my opinions are right, just because they're what I believe, but that's not a good grounds on which to argue your superiority.

Anywho, I forgot my point, or to be more precise, I forgot how the rest of the stuff I said ties into it, but my POINT US that much as the idea of seceding from the South tantalizes us all, they actually serve a pretty vital function in our economy.

I agree that large portion of the people who voted for Bush did so for the wrong reasons. The entire thing about Bush being "the messiah" or whatever is really stupid, and anyone who votes for Bush because of that doesn't deserve to ever get their hands on a ballot. But I disagree with Geoffrey, if you care about the economy and other civic issues, Bush is the one you should be supporting. Anyway, he already won
